And though it was so long ago
you still have my devotion.
And though I'm here and you're wherever,
I'm lost in the moment.
Where you couldn't see you with me,
I see across oceans.
I can't seem to tell between
past and present emotion.
A function of this kind of love
to go mostly unspoken.
A whisper's worth a thousand words
when your heart is still broken.
Just because all I was
was some spotaneous notion
don't interrupt my train of thought,
I'm lost in the moment.

West Palm
Not a sky in the cloud,
not a word on the street.
Not a word from your mouth,
just a broken belief.
A bar by the ocean
seagulls on a pier.
For the glory of nature
it's a buck more a beer.
But it's the offseason,
we're the only ones here.
It's a wound that I open.
It's a hurt I maintain.
My heart is broken,
you say it's a sprain.
not a word on the street.
Not a word from your mouth,
just a broken belief.
A bar by the ocean
seagulls on a pier.
For the glory of nature
it's a buck more a beer.
But it's the offseason,
we're the only ones here.
It's a wound that I open.
It's a hurt I maintain.
My heart is broken,
you say it's a sprain.

What I Want
All the old tricks
in the book that I bought
don't really work,
book cost a lot.
Lessons in love,
hotel seminars,
standing in meadows,
wishing on stars,
praying to gods,
and if there's just one,
pledging allegiance
to Him and His Son.
None of it mattered,
none of it flew,
I'll get on my knees,
I'll never get you.

Something, or nothing
has stolen your soul
you know the truth
but you haven't told
at least the devil
thought to suggest
you might be worth something
fingered your flesh
cause it's nice to feel
your worth someone's time
cause what really counts
is what is inside
To tell the truth
thought there'd be more
the ache of the exile
the scorn of the whore
you're already evil
you've done nothing wrong
dance to the tune
but you didn't write the song
has stolen your soul
you know the truth
but you haven't told
at least the devil
thought to suggest
you might be worth something
fingered your flesh
cause it's nice to feel
your worth someone's time
cause what really counts
is what is inside
To tell the truth
thought there'd be more
the ache of the exile
the scorn of the whore
you're already evil
you've done nothing wrong
dance to the tune
but you didn't write the song

Tell Jesus
Jesus, I'm tired.
Tell Jesus I said,
walked ten roads to Galilee,
tell Jesus I'm dead.
He builds the hour glass,
we hold it up,
He pours His holy grains of sand
til we've had enough.
Jesus, I'm tired.
Tell Jesus I said,
mine is the most sinful life
I've ever led.
Go up a child,
come back a man.
Stay away til there's hair on your chest and
blood on your hands.
Jesus, I'm tired.
Tell Jesus I said,
walked ten roads to Galilee,
tell Jesus I'm dead.
Tell Jesus I said,
walked ten roads to Galilee,
tell Jesus I'm dead.
He builds the hour glass,
we hold it up,
He pours His holy grains of sand
til we've had enough.
Jesus, I'm tired.
Tell Jesus I said,
mine is the most sinful life
I've ever led.
Go up a child,
come back a man.
Stay away til there's hair on your chest and
blood on your hands.
Jesus, I'm tired.
Tell Jesus I said,
walked ten roads to Galilee,
tell Jesus I'm dead.
